TRU-FLAP can and has been installed at combined sewer overflow (CSO) locations, sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) locations, holding tank overflows and pond overflows. The GTF-30-* is designed for 12-inch (30 cm) backflow protection and measures up to a maximum of 20 feet (6 m) in length. The GTF-120-* is designed for 48 inch (120 cm) backflow protection and measures up to a maximum of 20 feet (6 m) in length. TRU-FLAP model selection is based solely on the length of the concrete weir and the required backwater height. Units are currently marked with an asterisk due to the wide variety of model options.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-905609 kc_row kc_row_inner\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-297369 kc_col-sm-6 kc_column_inner kc_col-sm-6\"><div class=\"kc_wrapper kc-col-inner-container\"><div class=\"kc-elm kc-css-596800 kc_text_block\"><\/p>\n<h2>How it works<\/h2>\n<p>The TRU-FLAP floating gate is a stainless steel pivoting flap mounted on a weir. In its resting position, the TRU-FLAP hangs down under its own weight, allowing the upstream overflow to pass unimpeded over its crest, as any weir would. As the downstream water level rises, the floating flap pivots upwards to prevent backflow into the sewer system, reservoir or pond, while establishing a new weir height.
