\nThe ACU-DRUM rotating drum system is a sediment flushing device designed to remove debris deposited in stormwater holding tanks, combined sewer overflow (CSO) holding tanks, sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) equalization tanks and tank bottoms, using a single flush. It has been used in CSO and SSO applications and can be used in agricultural and industrial applications to clean any reservoir, tank or batch-processing tank.<\/p>\n

The system works by releasing a torrent of water stored in the rotating drum. The resulting flushing wave progresses along the entire length of the flushing path, pushing the debris deposited in front of it. The re-suspended debris is then transported by the flushing water to the treatment plant for disposal.<\/p>\n

The rotating drum system offers several advantages over other types of sediment flushing devices. Although similar in design to the ACU-TIP tilting bucket, the ACU-DRUM drum differs in that it is designed to use in-situ water for flushing. This sediment flushing device is installed at ground level in the tank. The system's only mechanical components are two permanently lubricated end bearings and the trigger mechanism. As a result, the need for maintenance is reduced, ensuring trouble-free, economical operation. The ACU-DRUM rotating drum can be installed in new tanks or easily retrofitted to existing installations. The following components are included in the ACU-DRUM rotating drum system: rotating drum, supports, bearings, anchoring system, float and release mechanism.<\/p>\n
