This system effectively removes debris in a single flush and has been successfully applied in CSO and SSO settings. Additionally, it can be utilized in agricultural and industrial applications to clean various batch tanks, ponds, and other similar structures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 26px;\">The system works by releasing a torrent of water into the system stored behind the flush valve. The resulting flush wave travels the length of the flush path, pushing the debris deposited in front of it. The re-suspended debris is then transported by the flushing water to the treatment plant for disposal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px; line-height: 26px;\">The flush valve system offers several advantages over other types of sediment flushing devices. The ACU-GATE flush valve is installed on a concrete opening, at ground level, located on a wall at the upstream end of the flush path. The mechanical components of the system are the hydraulic cylinder, hinge and locking mechanism. The ACU-GATE flush door is built entirely from robust stainless steel and has few moving parts, ensuring a long, virtually maintenance-free life. The sediment flush system can be installed in new tanks or easily retrofitted into existing installations. The GAG-20 is designed to fit a concrete opening measuring 16 inches high by 20 inches wide (41 cm x 51 cm), and the GAG-240 is designed to fit a concrete opening measuring 16 inches high by 240 inches wide (41 cm x 508 cm). ACU-GATE model selection is based solely on the width of the flush passage. The required flush volume stored behind the flush valve is based on the length of the flush path and the slope of the tank bottom or sewer invert. It can use in situ water or be filled from a secondary water source. Once the tank or sewer has been drained, the ACU-GATE flush valve is ready to operate. The sediment flush device is normally in the closed or locked position. Using electronic signals activated by the water level, the hydraulic unit pressurizes the gate cylinder, causing the latches to rotate to the open position. The hydrostatic pressure of the flush water stored behind the valve causes the ACU-GATE flush valve to open, releasing a torrent of water that flows down the flush channel, scouring any debris deposited from the bottom of the tank or sewer overflow. Once the flush water tank behind the sediment flushing device has been emptied, the door flap returns to its normal vertical position. At this point, the hydraulic unit is switched off and the single-acting cylinder spring returns the latch to the closed position, ensuring that the gate closes. The ACU-GATE flush valve is now ready for the next flush.<\/p>\n<p>The ACU-GATE flush valve can also be operated using the system's water levels by means of a float-powered hydraulic actuator, thus requiring no external energy. The ACU-GATE flush door can also be operated using a pneumatic supply system, eliminating the need for hydraulic fluid.<\/p>\n<p>Located under the gate frame, ACU-GATE flush latches are completely protected from debris accumulation by the gate frame. When unlocking, the mechanism rotates upwards so that no additional clearance is required under the gate.
